Early Life
jang Ajang Lino was born on 25 January 1983 in Awiel South County, Panthou Payam, Northern Bahr El Ghazal State, in the Boma–Mading Chan area. He is of the Dinka community and was born to his parents, Ajang Ajang and Ayong Amet Mawien. His birth came in a defining year in South Sudan’s history, when the SPLM/A emerged in 1983 from the renewed liberation struggle involving Anyanya II and other southern forces. Against this historic backdrop, Ajang grew up with a strong vision for his future, determined to build a meaningful life through education, perseverance and service.

Mr. Ajang Ajang Lino is a seasoned tax administration professional and public-sector leader with more than 19 years of experience in taxation, revenue administration, tax audit, compliance, enforcement and institutional leadership.
He served as the Commissioner for the Domestic Tax Revenue Division of the South Sudan Revenue Authority from March 2026 to August 2026.
Throughout his career, Mr. Lino has played a significant role in strengthening domestic revenue administration in South Sudan. His professional experience spans tax policy and strategy implementation, revenue collection, taxpayer compliance, audit and investigation, enforcement of tax laws, debt management, taxpayer services and organizational management.
His career record demonstrates extensive experience in supervising revenue performance, coordinating tax audits and compliance measures, and contributing to the review and implementation of tax laws and administrative policies.
Career in Revenue Administration
Prior to assuming the Commissioner role, Mr. Lino served in several senior positions within revenue administration, including Deputy Commissioner for Tax Audit and Compliance, Deputy Commissioner for Head Office Operations, and Assistant Commissioner for Large Taxpayers Service.
He also served for many years in taxation under the Ministry of Finance and Planning, where he gained extensive experience in income tax, excise duties, transaction taxes, tax compliance and financial analysis.
